With the average cost of a traditional white wedding approaching $50,000, it’s no surprise many couples are on the lookout for a more budget-friendly option.
This group of Perth wedding suppliers proves you may not need to look any further than your own backyard!
Inspired by the natural beauty of the Perth Hill’s, hair stylist Rachael Curtis, from Hair For All Occasions, convinced a neighbour to lend her unique courtyard to bring her vision to life.
“My neighbour has a magnificent garden which is the perfect combination of nature and careful landscaping,” she said.
“Louise [Gregson] from The Little Kitchen Cakes and Sweets inspired me originally as I promised her a shoot to showcase her mad cake skills!”
And she surely delivered the goods. The team salivated over both the sugar and design elements – filigree and ruffled roses accentuated with gold leaf.
Little Miss Vintage Wedding Décor selected a simple white setup, which offset the rich colours of the surrounds. Rustic Wood Co. supplied the raw timber of signage and Little Bride Hire supplied the lush blooms.
While the sturdy items held up against the elements, a gusty south-westerly wind caught the vibrant balloons, supplied by Themeology. Fortunately, photographer Naomi Tascon of Tascon Photography was able to employ some innovative techniques to capture both the buoyant creations and the models, in their full splendour.
“The weather did prove to be a challenge, but the rain cleared just in time, meaning everything looked lush,” Rachael said.
“Everyone worked so well together, despite many of the team sporting injuries or facing other challenges, but the results were just what we hoped for.”
It was a case of Married At First Sight for models Brianna Jones and Adam Mortimer. The pair who met for the first time at the shoot soon found their groove as a make-believe bride and groom. Makeup artist Emma Hilliard from Belle Makeup and Beauty created an elegant and ethereal look, the epitome of blushing bride. The model’s stunning look enhanced by bling from Envy Jewellery.
Celebrant Candice Bydder, of Celebrations by Candice, added an air of authenticity lending real marriage documents and flaunting her baby bump alongside Brianna and Adam.
“We wanted to show couples that you don’t need to spend a fortune for a beautiful wedding and I think we were successful,” Rachael said.
“The overall result was elegant, intimate and relaxed – the kind of environment where people can celebrate true love among the people they care about the most, without landing themselves in mountains of debt.
“It’s the kind of wedding almost anyone can achieve. If your own backyard doesn’t suit, maybe it’s time to introduce yourself to the neighbours!”
